Here we offer five important eyesight tips to help make driving after dark clearer and safer.
1. Get your eyes checked regularly even if you don’t currently wear glasses. Even small spectacle prescriptions can be a significant help in low light conditions.
2. If you wear glasses for distance vision, always opt for high-quality, reflection-free lenses to reduce glare and improve vision in dark driving conditions.
3. When driving at night avoid looking directly at oncoming headlights and focus on the left edge of the road where your own lights are shining.
4. Remember your specs! However small your distance prescription, wearing your glasses will help to make night-time vision clearer.
5. Don’t use any type of tinted glasses for night driving, even those with a special amber tint won’t help to improve visibility in low light.
