Eye Examinations

Regular eye examinations are an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.

Many eye conditions and vision problems remain unnoticeable, or change so gradually they can otherwise be missed.  Not only that, but eye examinations have been known to highlight various general health issues such as Blood Pressure or Diabetes.

Our comprehensive eye health & spectacle prescription checks are always carried out by our registered optometrists.

They will show the same attention to detail and care regardless of whether your eye examination is NHS* or Privately funded, with standard appointments normally taking around 30 minutes and including FREE Digital Retinal Photography.

For our most up-to-date technologies, and a deeper assessment of your eyes’ overall health, choose our Enhanced Eye Examinations available at our branches in Codsall and Walsall.

Your Appointment

During your eye examination, our optometrists will aim to get an understanding of any visual concerns you have, working to identify and accurately correct your sight prescription.

They will ensure that your eyes work well as a team to enable relaxed binocular vision for all your day-to-day tasks.  As a minimum, we then check the general health of your eyes from front to back, using microscopes and ophthalmoscopes to screen for eye diseases and systemic conditions that can affect your eye health or sight.

All our branches are equipped with digital retinal imaging equipment,  allowing your optician to monitor your eyes accurately over time.

Corporate Eye Tests

If you regularly use a VDU screen at work, your employer has a responsibility to provide eye examinations.

As required, employers should also offer spectacles specifically for VDU use (Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992). At 4 SIGHT opticians we accept a range of corporate vouchers provided by many employers. We currently accept Accor (Eye-care vouchers).

If you are an employer and are interested in a quote for providing bespoke eye examinations, safety and/or VDU glasses for your staff, contact us at enquiries@4sightopticians.com for more information.
